Prefectural Order AP2026-096 of 10 July 2026 places several municipalities in the department, including Mandelieu-la-Napoule, on drought alert until 31 October 2026.

Restrictions on the washing and rinsing of boats apply:

The washing and rinsing of boats is prohibited (for both private individuals and professional cleaning services), regardless of the size of the vessel or the equipment used (pressure washers, buckets).
Rinsing of engines is permitted provided that the volume of water used is kept to a minimum, as is washing for hygiene reasons (inside boats: living areas such as kitchens and toilets).
However, professionals in the boating sector involved in the hire or sale of watercraft are permitted to wash or rinse them provided they use high-pressure equipment AND a water recycling system.

Finally, the use of desalinated water derived from seawater is not subject to these restrictions; provided that the user can demonstrate on the spot – in the event of an inspection by the water police – that the water used comes exclusively from a seawater desalination process.
In the absence of such proof, the water used will be considered subject to the restrictions.
